hello! for my birthday this year i really wanted to get out of london for a few nights to enjoy some peace and quiet. i found this sweet little airbnb in a tiny village called ripe, a short drive from lewes. although the cottage doesn’t have a kitchen it does have a little fridge that we made use of and the lovely hosts provided us with fresh croissants and coffee on our first morning. we found it to be the perfect spot to enjoy the local area from.
views from downstairs, looking out to the garden
the little dining table nook
the cottage looking lovely in the morning sunshine
on saturday we made our way over to the charleston farmouse which has made me feel like i need to paint all the walls at home
the beautiful dining table painted by vanessa bell
the gorgeous green bathroom
maybe my favourite room, the studio
the café on-site was closed so we went to the middle farm shop where we had lunch and ringden farm juice which was so delicious
they stocked so much nice stuff, including very cute tiny bantam hen eggs
back to the airbnb for a salty snack plate and a glass of beer
before heading home we swung by the charleston in lewes and saw the dorothy hepworth and patricia preece exhibition
beautiful hands
and finally, someone on my wave-length
see you soon!
